Subject: what games would you like remade? May 4th 2008, 10:59 am

yes, as the title suggests, i'd like to know what games you'd like remade for next-generation consoles. It can be either console and any videogame from previous years. If you can, think up a control scheme as well and describe the game in as much detail as you can.

I personally would like the Playstation 1 game 'Alundra' to be remade for the PS3. It was an amazing game with some of the most mind-bending puzzles and a really engaging and thick story. It had similar gameplay elements to 'The Legend Of Zelda' series exept with a slightly different battle system and 2D sprites. I still have the game on my shelf and am proud to own it, It's a great game which provided hours and hours of entertainment and i believe a remake for the PS3 would be amazing.

With the technology the creators would have at their disposal, The remake would be true to the original while still integrating some new and fresh ideas that would show off the consoles features. The graphics would take full advantage of the PS3's capability and would feature graphics similar to a cross between call of duty 4/Rock Band. By this i mean the backgrounds would be very vast and vibrant with loads of detail (like call of duty 4) while the characters would be taken from 2D to 3D with graphics similar to that of the characters in Rock Band. This would help capture the anime/cartoony effect that the characters had in concepts of the original game.

Controls would be relatively similar to the original, however some changes will have to be made. This is because the game is being translated from 2D to 3D and the camera would be very different from the original birds-eye-view camera style. Instead, the game would adopt a camera style similar to that of 'The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess' which would allow for alot more freedom to move about. The battle system would also have to change. While weapons would be the same as in the original, the melee weapons would be controlled the same way as in the original and ranged weapons such as the bow and arrow would feature a aiming/targeting system, much like the one featured in GTA VI. Other than these few changes, the game would retain as much of the original control scheme as it could, which would satisfy hardcore gamers who played the original as well as gamers new to the game.

The story and plot background would all be the same as the original, except translated into 3D with beautiful and vibrant surroundings and some voice acting for supporting characters. Alundra however, will remain a silent protoganist. Also, the game's design would be influenced by the anime sequences that were featured in the original and those same anime scenes would be in the remake as well as maybe some new ones to help promote the game.

Remember, this is all an idea, NONE OF THIS IS REAL and it is all purely based of ideas by me.

Actually, I've heard theories that they do plan to remake Gold and Silver. I hope so. They were two of the best in the series.
